The Northeast Stokes Fire & Rescue Dept. thanks you for all the support we get from our community, with out it we would not be able to assist our community. Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire Department started out with 37 members. On December 21st 1988 the original charter was amended to change the name to Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc. Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire & Rescue runs approximately 545 calls per year with an average response time of 6 minutes. Since going on the County fire service tax, the Department has concentrated on building up the apparatus and equipment used by the Department in service to the community. However, without the dedication of our members, all the apparatus and equipment could not be used. The goals of the Department for the coming years are to mantain the highest level of training and the most effective equipment and apparatus needed for the services rendered to our community, and surrounding communities on mutual aid and Stokes County.
